How to Earn Easy High Scores in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4

If you’re skating your way through Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, you’ll know that each level challenges you to hit specific high score and combo score targets. These can feel tricky at first, but with the right approach, you’ll be hitting six-digit scores—and even breaking the million mark—with ease.

🎮 Start With the Right Special Moves

In THPS 3+4, your score is based on the tricks you perform and how many you chain together in a single combo. The fastest way to start building a strong score is by customizing your special moves.

Head to the Skater tab from the pause menu and assign your most powerful specials. While The 900 gives the highest point boost, it’s best saved for when your stats are high enough in Air, Hangtime, and Speed. Until then, equip moves like Indy Backflip or Misty Flip—they’re easier to land and still offer great value.

🌀 Add Spins to Boost Your Score

To multiply your trick score, add spins! While airborne, hold LB/RB (Xbox) or L1/R1 (PlayStation) to spin and increase your trick’s difficulty—and its score.

For example, an Indy Backflip might be worth 4,000 points by default, but turning it into a 540 Indy Backflip can triple that to around 12,000 points. Combine it with a Boneless jump before takeoff and a Revert on landing to stack extra points into your combo.

📈 Multiply With Manual Combos

Once you’ve got a strong base trick, link it to a Manual to keep the combo alive and start multiplying your total score.

While in a Manual, double-tap different face buttons (excluding Ollie) to perform extra tricks without breaking the combo. As long as you maintain balance, you can stack a dozen or more tricks this way, multiplying your original trick score significantly.

💡 Example: Start with a 540 Indy Backflip (base 12,000 points), chain into a Manual, and add 15 small tricks—this alone can push your score to 180,000+!

🚧 Use Rails, Reverts, and Lip Tricks

To extend combos even more, include grinds and lip tricks. Transition from Manuals into a rail grind, then revert back into a Manual to keep the multiplier going. With practice, this can help you push beyond 1 million points in a single combo.

💬 Final Tips

  • Practice balance to avoid bailing during long Manuals.
  • Use levels with halfpipes or open areas for easier combos.
  • Keep your eye on the balance meter during Manuals and Grinds.
  • Try to set a combo goal per run, gradually increasing over time.

With these tips in your arsenal, you’ll find even the toughest high score challenges in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 much easier. Keep practicing, and soon enough, you’ll be pulling off million-point combos with style!
